Properly fitting footwear ensures overall foot health while preventing injuries like sprains, strains, and fractures. It helps improve your posture and minimize stress on the joints. Good shoes distribute the weight evenly and reduce fatigue caused due to heavy physical activity. Choosing the right footwear is of utmost importance for athletes as it helps in improving their performance and efficiency. It keeps foot problems like corns, calluses, bunions, blisters, and ingrown toenails at bay. Despite these advantages, only about a third of people wear the right shoe size according to a report published in the Journal of Foot and Ankle Research. That’s pretty surprising. Make it your top priority to wear the right footwear to prevent any injuries in the long run and maintain satisfactory articulation and postural health.

With so many sizes to choose from, trying to find the right shoes that fit can be a nightmare. However, it is important that you do it because it is crucial for the health of your feet, improves hygiene, and keeps your shoes in the right shape, allowing them to last longer. In order to achieve that, you will need to know how narrow or wide your foot is.
Most of our customers who walk in or call us state that they’ve been wearing ‘H’ width, a size that is only used by the Most Famous Minnesota Boot manufacturer and does not allow their work boots to be sold online. Their ‘H’ width happens to fit almost as wide as what the rest of the industry labels as 4E wide. These customers end up going with either 4E or 6E wide in brands we do sell and end up reporting that the boots we sell in 4E are wider than the manufacturer’s “H” width. Additionally, these customers never end up going back to “H’ width.
Once they try either our 4E’s made by Carolina or 6E’s made by Avenger and Hoss

Almost 100% of the Big Men who wear large size 13+ footwear have wide feet. It continues to baffle me how the manufacturers of big sizes seem to not be aware of this. Thorogood however, has read the writing on the wall, and they did something about it.

Here at XL feet, we’re big about stressing the importance of quality footwear. How does one define quality footwear? Well, there isn’t one way. Lots of other people out there will tell you to look for any of the following things.
They’ll tell you to look for premium materials. In dress shoes, they’ll tell you to look for quality leather and suede uppers and solid leather soles with brass tacks. In sneakers and gym shoes they’ll tell you to look for orthotics and high-tech insoles that will keep you comfortable as you go through all the motions.
In boots for hiking, hunting, and work they’ll tell you to look for some of these same things as well as other features to keep you safe and sound. They might tell you to look for a shank to reduce fatigue and protect your foot. They might tell you to look for a safety toe of some
